Hi, I’m Denise Pimentel. I’m a wife, mom, author, educator, and mental health advocate. Most of all, I’m someone who believes God can meet us in the middle of a life we never expected.
I live with bipolar disorder, and in 2024, I had a stroke that changed my life and my work as a teacher. I’ve also known grief and seasons when I wondered what my purpose would look like next. My faith hasn’t made those experiences easy, but it has helped me keep going and find ways to use my voice for others.
I wrote Unshaken to share my story, and I started Unshaken Devotions to make room for the quieter conversations that come after it. Here, I’ll share reflections on Scripture, faith, mental health, healing, and everyday life. I hope these words remind you that you can bring your questions and struggles to God, too.
I often talk about turning pain into purpose. That doesn’t mean the pain was good. It means I believe our hardest chapters do not have to be the end of our story.
I’m glad you’re here. My hope is that you’ll leave each visit feeling a little less alone and a little more encouraged to take the next step.
